The Cape Horn Biosphere reserve is located in the very South of Chile. The area protects thousands of tiny plants and lichens that form “the miniature forests of Cape Horn.” Since tourism has doubled in the last years, the destination has created a new sustainable tourism activity called “ecotourism with a hand lens” to discover, enjoy and appreciate the ecological, economical, aesthetic, and ethical values of small, often unperceived organisms. Developed at Omora Park in Puerto Williams, it has a low environmental impact and a great educational value allowing visitors to get to know the local nature year round.
